Ushering ease in the export of goods, many digital initiatives have been initiated. The digital platform has given a major boost to India’s potential in agriculture and export of food products. Taking a major step towards digital India in export trade helping in efficient assessment, quality monitoring, and traceability, Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu launched digital initiatives for ease of exports. Under the digital initiatives for ease of export, the Minister launched three integrated digital portals, namely Safe Food Export Traceability Portal, One Laboratory One Assessment Portal and Monitoring Export Alerts Portal.
The digital platforms, developed by the Export Inspection Council, have integrated the entire export food chain by linking primary production, chain catch, aquaculture pond, dairy farms, and apiaries. The council is the official export certification body of the government and it has developed the portals for credible inspection and certification and to strengthen the confidence on Indian produce.
To enhance the country’s analytical capability, the council has provided accredited Proficiency Testing providers at Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai by reducing dependency on foreign PT providers and ease of access.
